In a radio interview yesterday, Dr. Northam once again proved to Virginians that he will be an independent voice and stand up to Donald Trump.
In the interview with Sirius XM's Dean Obeidallah, the topic arose of President Trump's conversation with the widow of a US serviceman killed in Niger in which it was reported that Trump said, "he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt."
"It's despicable," Northam responded. "Disrespecting these Gold Star families, it just tells us who he is People are looking for a new direction, and that's what we plan to give them."
